International Networking Week - The Big Big Breakfast How to get the best value in February Following feedback from the Leadership Teams at the Leadership Team dinners in November, the format for the Big Breakfast meeting will be focused on networking emphasising the new opportunities for members to meet more people. The fast exciting speed networking events we have run before have created numerous referral opportunities for members, great business as a result. Introductions, overview of BNI, latest world wide & UK statistics, Education Slot and Recognition, will be followed by this proven networking formula. All members and guests will have a chance to give their 60 second sales manager minute to all who attend. Dr Ivan Misner, Founder & Chairman of BNI will herald the fun of this speed networking event with a short presentation on International Networking Week. So that all members have the best opportunity to benefit from the meeting we have included a tip, a 60 second template and a ?follow up? sheet, which are attached. Tip for the day In his book , ?Truth or Delusion? Busting Networking?s Biggest Myths, our founder asks, ?For networking success, when describing your products or services, you should try to tell people about everything you do? Truth or Delusion? His answer, ? Delusion? Don?t shotgun your message ? sharpshoot it. You may perform a wide variety of services or offer a broad range of products to your customers, but for a referral, your description of what you do should be narrow and detailed, focused on a single aspect of your business. Yes, you may offer the most elaborate assortment of office furnishings available in your part of the state, but that doesn?t mean much to the prospect who is looking for a truckload of one specific type of high-tec desk for a new technology company. Your referral sources will find it much easier to get you an appointment with a prospect if you have provided information that will help them address the prospects specific needs. You will know from your Chapter Director that part of your commitment to your Chapter is attendance at Member Success Training within 60 days of joining BNI. Member Success Training is suited to new and seasoned members of your chapter to help you learn how to get the best out of BNI, including presentation skills tailored to the way a BNI Chapter works, showing you how to get introductions to a targeted market. It is also essential to understand the importance of "building a network" in BNI, the central plank of BNI activity. Finally, we will dispel the worry that you might not be able to find referrals for fellow members, and put you on route to developing your skills to recognise opportunities that are around you most of the time. |
