International Networking Week - 1 -7 February 2010
Network with members from London South East, to celebrate International Networking Week.
Networking Skills Workshop
Imagine walking into a room of strangers, knowing there?s business there for you. And yet you' re uncomfortable about approaching people, uncertain about what to say, unsure about how to wrench yourself away from the room bore ?

Imagine how much business you?d lose because you just couldn?'t network effectively?

All that will change at our fun, interactive, professional and invaluable workshop on Networking Skills.

How much business do you generate from your networking skills? Could you improve your effectiveness when walking into a room full of members and visitors, or a room full of strangers?

What are your goals for a networking session?

We?ll show you:

> how to get more business from networking;
> what to say;
> how to say it

when you?re at networking events or just talking to your contacts on a daily basis.

By the end of the session, you?ll know exactly what to say to win business when you?re networking.

There you can practise your networking skills with members from other chapters and across the region: and who knows what business you may be able to give and gain?

Even more importantly, we?ll give you a fun-packed 2 hours of training

And all this will mean more business for you as you learn more about how to network effectively ? anywhere, so book your place now while seats are available.

BNI training is a part of your membership fee and the only cost to you is the breakfast/room hire cost of £10.

This training will be different from other (non-BNI) training you may have attended. It will be fun, interactive and you will be fired up for the week ahead and for your next chapter meeting.

"Opportunity is missed by most people, because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."
Thomas Edison (1847-1931) inventor and salesman
New Member Success Training
You will know from your application form that BNI has a policy of asking all members to attend an MST within 6 weeks of joining because we know that it will boost their business. Your chapter is advised to allocate 10-minute slots only to members who have attended the MST: we want all members to make the maximum impact when they are allocated their slot.

We ask this for a reason: a recent study of referrals has shown that those who attend the MST at the first opportunity generate 27% more referrals overall than those who have not attended. We know the motto of BNI is givers gain. The corollary of that is also true: those who give less, receive less.

The MST also gives you FREE networking with many members throughout the region with the opportunity of doing some business.

May I ask you to ask yourself these questions?

Have I ever stood up - or seen others stand up - in the contribution section and said "no referrals" or "I'm working on a referral for ..." or "I have referrals in the pipeline?"

Do I feel challenged by inviting visitors to my chapter?

How many referrals have I received since joining?

How many referrals have I given since joining?

How do I get the most out of my 1:1 sessions with members?

How should I make the best use of my 10-minute slot?

Many new members feel uncomfortable with their answers to the above, so we run the workshops to help them. BNI training comes as a part of your membership fee and the only cost to you is the breakfast/room hire cost of £10.

This training will be different from others you may have attended. It will be fun, interactive and you will be fired up for the week ahead and for your next chapter meeting

We start the training promptly at 7 am and we ask you to arrive for 6.30 am when there is an excellent networking opportunity with members from across the whole of the London South East region. We aim to end by 9.30 am.

"Opportunity is missed by most people, because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."

On Track Leadership
"However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results."
Winston Churchill

Our leadership teams all set goals for their 6 month term. Like aircraft pilots, they need to check regularly to see if they are following the track they originally plotted. If not, they need to change course to get back on track

This interactive session with all chapter directors, membership co-ordinators and secretary/treasurers across the region will share experiences, answer questions, grasp challenges and look for the opportunities to bring more business into the chapter.

"What matters is where you want to go. Focus in the right direction"
Donald Trump
Presentation Skills Workshop
Do you remember your first BNI meeting as a visitor?

Were you nervous about the 60-second slot? Do you still get a bit flustered when making a presentation at BNI ? or in front of other people? Are you sure you are making the best of your fifty 60-second slots every year? And your 10-minute slots: are you really good at them? Are you getting the referrals you want after giving your 10-minute presentation?

We want you to make the maximum of your investment in the BNI and we know that you will do this best when you:

> Are confident in how to present
> Say the right things
> In the right way
> In the right time
> With conviction and confidence

That?s why we are keen that you join us to network with members from across the region ? and sometimes from other regions too: and who knows what business you may be able to give and gain?

Even more importantly, we?ll give you a fun-packed 2 ½ hours of training on how to be a great presenter in front of one or 1,000 people.

And all this will mean more referrals for you as your chapter members learn more about your business from your effective presentations.

I know how keen you are to make a success of your BNI membership and that you will not want to miss this session, so book your place now.

BNI training is a part of your membership fee and the only cost to you is the breakfast / room hire cost of £10.

This training will be different from others you may have attended. It will be fun, interactive and you will be fired up for the week ahead and for your next chapter meeting.

We serve breakfast at 7 am and of course there is an excellent networking opportunity from 6.30 am. We aim to end by 9.15 am. Please arrive for 6.30 am so you can network and find the business which is bound to be in the room for you.

Referral Skills Workshop
Do you feel happy with the number of referrals you are able to give to your chapter colleagues?

Do you feel happy with the number of referrals you receive from your chapter colleagues?

We know that givers gain: so the more referrals we give, the more business we shall receive.

Would you like to discover how to find referrals all over the place for your colleagues? Never go to a single meeting without giving at least one referral?

We want you to make the maximum of your investment in the BNI and we know that you will do this best by joining members from around the region on for our training and networking session. This is essential for everyone who wants to make the maximum return on their investment in BNI without extra time. We ask that all members complete this training within 3 months of joining BNI.

And of course, it gives you FREE networking with many members throughout the region with the opportunity of doing business.

May I ask you to ask yourself these questions?

Have I ever stood up - or seen others stand up - in the contribution section and said "no referrals" or "I'm working on a referral for ..." or "I have referrals in the pipeline?"

Team Leader Training
"Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because they want to do it." Dwight D Eisenhower

The most business is generated in BNI when chapters work as an effective team. A key part of that teamwork is the leadership given by the chapter director, membership co-ordinator, secretary/treasurer and their supporting colleagues: the educational co-ordinator, events co-ordinator, visitor hosts and membership committee.

Our leadership training is essential for all members of the next leadership team, who are in place for 6 months.

If you have been elected for one of these vital roles, come along to the training where we'll show you both how to to the job and some of the key things to think about when working with you r chapter colleagues.

We cover:
> goal-setting: what do you want the chapter to achieve in the next 6 months?
> dealing with people
> why BNI policies are key to a chapter's success

It's a great opportunity to network with members across the region and to learn from their successes and challenges.

"Effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results not attributes." Peter Drucker
Views from the Front
"Leaders need to be optimists. Their vision is beyond the present."
Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York

Our chapter directors are a key part of their chapters' development and we invite them to get together over dinner to look at how things are progressing in their chapters, how they can help one another, how they can learn from one another.

We also ask them to bring along their successors as chapter directors so we can ensure a smooth handover to the next team.
